According to Seth Godin, we are transitioning into what he refers to as “the connection economy.” Within this new economy, value is created not through industrialism, but through connections, coordination, trust, permission and the exchange of ideas.
Does this sound familiar? It should. Associations and Chambers of Commerce are the epitome of what it takes to thrive in the connection economy. These types of organizations create value for their members by building connections throughout a community of people that share similar attitudes, interests and opinions.
