INDIANAPOLIS (May 18, 2017) – WebLink Connect™ users, trade association industry experts and sponsors joined the WebLink team in Indianapolis on May 3-5 for a user conference like the company hasn’t seen before. Not only did this year’s WebLink Summit break revenue and sponsor participation records, but new session types added immeasurable value to the attendee experience.
“Summit is the first of its kind,” said WebLink President, Founder and CEO DJ Muller. “Ours was the first event to bring association management software users and staff together for education and networking. It became obvious to us early in the business that we would all benefit from a few days together, and it’s an important part of the WebLink culture that we continue hosting the event and making it better for our users every year.”
Keeping with the buzz of the Indianapolis 500 each May in Indy, WebLink adopted a racing theme for the conference, including hosting former IndyCar driver Sarah Fisher as the opening day keynote speaker.
From San Diego to Mississauga to Atlanta – clients across the United States and Canada were excited to travel to WebLink’s home city for the big event. Attendees from 140 different organizations represented several different industries, including chambers of commerce, apartment associations, home builders’ associations, restaurant and hospitality associations, and association management companies (AMC).
“[The WebLink Summit was a] Great opportunity to learn, network with others, pick up good ideas and ask questions from others and WebLink staff,” said Patty Steffen of OneZone Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s Summit was the first time WebLinkers had the chance to meet with users in person since the new, exclusively browser-based Events module was revealed in March. Its release made WebLink one of the first AMS providers to host its event management capabilities in a single page application (SPA) view. With this release also came the reveal of WebLink’s next generation platform, moving all modules to an SPA solution and setting a new standard for user experience in the AMS space.
The excitement surrounding the Events release and the upcoming Benefits Management release (May) prompted WebLink to introduce a new element to Summit – session tracks dedicated solely to newly released and upcoming modules. Training courses were repeated multiple times over the 2.5 days so users had ample opportunity to get in-depth education on what’s new and coming to WebLink Connect™.
Also new to Summit this year were Feature Usage Gap Analysis (FUGA) reports. With the goal of ensuring that each client gets the most value out of its database, Director of Customer Experience Tao Stadler held one-on-one conversations with clients in the tropical themed FUGA Shack.
“The FUGA Shack was FUGA’n amazing!” Stadler said. “We know that there are so many time-saving and money-making features inside the system that sometimes people forget to turn them all on. The FUGA Shack brought those items to light and made sure everyone walked away with more value than when they walked in.”
The FUGA Shack was an attendee favorite at the 2017 Summit – clients saw an average of 12% improvement in adopting these features in just one week after going through their FUGA reports with Stadler.

On the final day of Summit, WebLink awarded FUGA awards in several categories to recognize the attending organizations that were already using these features extensively prior to Summit.
