Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce uses WebLink technology to provide more benefits to members

 

OSWEGO, NY  — January 25, 2010 —  The Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce recently held its 94th Annual Meeting.  The focus of the annual meeting was how companies can use technology to gain an edge and seem much bigger than they are.  From an article in the Oswego, NY Palladium-Times....

This is exactly what chamber Executive Director Beth Hilton has done to help launch her organization and Oswego County businesses into the new decade. Over the summer, Hilton found member management software by WebLink International, which is an integrated database and a form of cloud computing. It was created by chamber of commerce people for these specific organizations. The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce will be ready to launch its new and improved Web site, thanks to the aforementioned software, in the next 30 days, she said.

“As soon as we enter a new member in the database, it automatically goes up on our Web site,” Hilton said.

The executive director was most excited about the new “Members Only” section of the Web site. There are a wide variety of services this section offers, including a calendar of events; a who’s who section; the ability to pay bills online; direct updating capability of business profiles, which could be altered to feature a restaurant’s weekly specials or upload coupons on a company’s Web site; the ability to track the number of referrals for each business; and software to generate a simple, one-page Web site for a business or company if they do not have one.

The new business directory featured on the chamber’s Web site will also have key word optimization, which will help broaden searches for area businesses. Those interested in joining the chamber of commerce will soon be able to do so via a form on the coming Web site and the organization’s logo will be available for download to place on businesses’ sites, as well.

“We have the ability to show you what we are doing for you,” Hilton said about the new Web site. “I’m just really excited about this software.”
