Last week, WebLink hosted a webinar for business associations and chambers of commerce titled, “4 Challenges Associations Face When Engaging Young Professionals.”
Associations are dealing with serving four distinct (and soon to be five) generations in the workplace today. Each generation has specific cultural and workplace experiences that shape how they value business meetings, interactions, personal networks and different forms of communications.
The webinar offered a look back at the events that shaped each generation to allow attendees to understand the distinct differences and begin to craft different strategies for reaching each of them. Since young professionals are the next generation entering the workforce en mass, associations must be prepared to offer different products and services to provide value to this group.
Many organizations are starting Young Professional Groups as a way to connect with tomorrow’s business leaders. Some are doing it well while others struggle with gaining real traction in their community.
The webinar cited specific examples of how associations can change they way they deliver programs that are attractive to younger professionals.
